Introduction to the site- Hey there! Or should I say HAY--because hay is for horses! This website is dedicated to helping horses and giving those wonderful, kind, gentle giants the best life possible. It also has a forum for horse-riding and equestrian discussion.
The Blog will talk about various things ranging from great equestrian programs we've found to tips and key information, and more.
We will have photos and videos from our users and from us just for fun and inspiration! As well as shows such as the Devon dressage show, the Olympics and more--for your enjoyment!
The Dollar Program- So what exactly do we mean by "this site is dedicated to helping horses"?? Well, for each user than signs up, $1 will be donated to a different horse rescue fund. All you have to do is click "Register". WE WILL PAY THE $1. YOU don't have to spend a penny. That way, we are not only creating a horse-loving community but actually doing something to help. And we know it doesn't seem like much, but with the help and support of all you guys, it will add up and we can make a difference!!! By making this site, we are also trying to spread awareness. These creatures mean a lot to us and just by telling your mom, sister or friend you are spreading the word bit by bit. And, like said before, just by registering that's 1 more dollar towards a great cause. And it costs nothing. So why not?
If you click on "Links" you will see links to a bunch of horse fund websites. If you have a specific one you want us to donate to, just email us! (click on "Contact Us" for contact info"
A bit about horses- WHY did we pick HORSES? That's easy! Horses are beautiful inside and out. No matter who you are, we think if you were to see a black Friesian gallop across an open field or a Hunter fly over a fence, you would be in awe and amazement of their beauty. But this beauty is not just exterior. Horses have genetic predisposition to be kind, sweet, and loving. If you love them, no matter what, they will love you back. No horse is born mean. It is only when treatment or early life for them is cruel and unkind. We want to prevent this. All animals are wonderful and incredible, but we think you'll agree when we say that horses are one of the most compassionate creatures out there. I have yet to meet a horse (one that has always a good, kind life anyway,) that does not seem to have a passion for life, for grass, for family, for people, for wind, water, all those things that people so often overlook the importance of.
On a cold winter's day, one of the best feelings if to feel your horse's warm muzzle cuddle your shoulder and beg to be pet. It is sad when horses are mistreated or unloved in the beginning, because that makes it hard for them to go back to their sweet, loving selves. It is even sadder when they are mistreated their whole life or when they are old. No person deserves abuse. So no horse deserves it either! What did they ever do but love you? Nothing! So just consider that when you register and comment and blog, you are letting us know that there is hope, and that people care.
